Career Guidance

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

Part of the 5th Year careers programme includes job seeking skills. This involves C.V preparation and Interview skills. These essential skills are extremely important in the world of work today.

· To secure a work placement on many college course

· Entry to a PLC course

· To secure employment with career potential at any stage in their future careers.

To ensure that our students gain the maximum advantage we are offering an addition programme run by an experienced recruitment specialist.

Interview Techniques Programme includes:

· A 2 hour seminar covering

Preparation (self analysis, Industry &Company Research)

Presentation (Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letter, Application Form and Appearance

Participation (Interview Types, Interview question & appropriate responses)

· Demonstration Interviews

· An individual Mock Interview (15-20 minutes duration )

· A comprehensive written assessment of each individual students performance from an experienced interviewer with constructive feedback on their performance.

The seminar for students will take place on Monday 7th April 2008 with the Mock Interviews conducted the following Monday –Wednesday 14th -16th April 2008.

The cost of this programme is €4 for seminar and €16 for the optional Mock Interview which we strongly recommend (€20 for all).

Places are limited, booking through the Guidance Office.
